To develop a new form for acoustic tiles, designer Harry Allen looked to one of the greatest sound deadening materials of all, woven fabric. His tile, a simple wave form, when assembled, creates a woven structure. In addition to employing porous foam and soft fabric, the tiles structure traps sound in many cavities.
Taking a cue from Ecovative’s great environmental platform, Harry sought to create a completely compostable product. He achieved his goal by pairing Ecovative foam with a compostable fabric, Array, from Designtex. The materials are joined with an equally innovative and environmentally sound soy-based adhesive called Soy Skins, manufactured by e2e.
The dimensions of Weave are 12" x 4" x 1/2".
